Vogue uses underage models - again.

There is something almost bitchy in the joyful way that people are spotting underage models in copies of Vogue.

So a few months (a year!??!) ago, Vogue stated that they would not be hiring anymore underage models as part of a push towards hiring healthy models who can deal with the stresses of the industry.

The latest 'violation' as its being referred to, comes from Vogue Mexico that hired a 15 year old Polish girl in their current issue. The previous two offenses come from Vogue China and Vogue Italia which have since apologised for the breach.

The photographer, Kevin Sinclair has responded to the criticism by saying that :

'“I am aware of the age restrictions with Condé Nast. I was not aware the model was 15 years of age. When we communicated with her agency in Poland they never mentioned that she was so young. We were all under the impression that she was 18 years or older, not 15.”

However Vogue Mexico has also stated that they didn't know the age of the model and were not involved in casting her. So who messed up here!?

Is this all a misunderstanding or more then that? Are people getting edgy about the underage modelling thing? Lets be fair here, there are an awful lot of pressures on young models to conform to body types and behaviours. It also means missing school and missing valuable growing up time if your image takes off in a big way. However, has it ever harmed Kate Moss that she might have missed her school years? I doubt it.
