Crocodile, not appearing in these movies |
Mega Shark versus Crocosaurus
Summary: This is a stupid movie. From The Asylum as a loose sequel to Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, it has a flimsy cast of characters and an over the top, completely ridiculous plot. It almost gave me a mental breakdown watching this film and I would never recommend anyone watching it, ever.

Dinocroc vs. Supergator
Summary: Silly sequel to both Dinocroc and Supergator, like this film, both produced by Roger Corman. Some of the effects are decent enough and has some very amusing moments, again suffers from a nonsensical plot and cardboard characters. Has a couple of decent performances though and could be fun for fans of bad B-movies.

Black Water
Summary: Australian survival horror which utilises real crocodile footage for it's killer croc. Based on true events, it's about three people trying to escape from a hungry crocodile. Has some good moments in it, though the inconsistency from using real crocodiles is jarring and over uses scenery footage to the point where it is tedious.

Killer Crocodile
Summary: Sometimes silly, 1989 Italian horror flick. The giant croc itself looks pretty terrible, but the pacing is good and the film is engaging enough for it to be entertaining throughout. The movie is let down by some dodgy effects and some poor camera work, but for the large part that can be ignored and you can sit back and enjoy the carnage. That is if you can find it as it's not the easiest movie in the world to get hold of.

Lake Placid 3
Summary: Giant CGI crocodiles once more invade Black Lake and it's up to the Sheriff and Fish and Game to stop them. Much better than the previous outing, Lake Placid 2, has some great moments and a genuinely exciting climax. Some great actors and characters make this fun, but campy and a good silly B-movie to watch with friends. Doesn't quite hold up to the original and rarely manages to scare, but fun enough to watch.

Rogue
Summary: Australian survival horror, based on true events. Released the same year as Black Water, faired poorly at the box office, but I believe is an under-appreciated classic. Has the best giant crocodile I've ever seen on screen. Great cast of actors, playing some compelling characters, truly terrifying and suspenseful and should not be missed. There's no funny kills in this film, it's not the kind you put on to laugh along with, it's the kind of film which you watch when you want to be scared. It's the 'Alien' of Giant Crocodile movies, not the Jaws though as it's missing the high seas adventure portion of the movie.
